Avoid Prolong Exposure to the Sun - Stay Safe from Skin Cancer

Life on earth is literally impossible, without the sun. The sun radiates its energy in the form of light and heat, which make it possible for every living creature to survive in this planet. However, sunlight can be not only damaging but also life-threatening, because of the UV (ultra violet) radiation. These particles present in the solar rays result in premature ageing of your skin which may cause wrinkles and patches. Moreover, it also results in the development of cataracts and even skin cancer. According to experts, the volume of damage resulting from the sun, depends on strength of the sunrays, length of exposure and certain other factors.

Avoiding direct exposure to the sun

Thus, in order to cut sun.
Medical experts emphasise on the aspect of skin protection from the sun to decrease the chances of developing skin cancer. As the ozone layer above our earth’s surface is getting thinner, the volume of UV radiation on the planet is rising steadily. In this situation, it is better to avoid direct exposure to the sun as much as possible.

The worst part of skin cancer is that it can affect anyone at any age. If, you are compelled to stay in the sun for long hours, for whatsoever reason, make sure to cover up the exposed skin surface as much as possible. According to medical experts, the most serious sign of skin cancer is the spot that keeps changing in its shape, size and even colour, during a span of a month to about a couple of years.

On taking proper skin care protection from the sun, you can definitely save yourself from being a victim of the delay disease. However, the majority of people depend on over-the-counter sunscreen lotions to protect themselves from UV radiation. These commercially manufactured products, however, do not provide invincible protection from ultraviolet particles present in the sunlight.

Early symptoms

Early symptoms of skin cancer include:

  • Sores on the skin that never heal
  • Reddish, scale-like patches having sharp outlines
  • Pale and waxy nodules

However, the symptoms for melanoma, the most serious type of the disease, are tiny mole-like growths. If you come across any of the symptoms mentioned above, you should seek appointment with your general practitioner without any delay.

The easiest way to avail skin protection from sun rays includes using authentic UV ray-ban eye gears and wearing a hat or a head gear during the day. Just sitting indoors day-long is actually not a viable way to keep you safe from the disease. Your body needs exposure to sunlight in order to synthesize vitamin D, which is essential for your health and well-being. Stay alert and get necessary protection every time you go out in the sun.
