Has that time come when we are so obsessed with keeping our jobs that we are refusing to leave our desks for it? Are we so busy picking up the back work of our colleagues that we have stopped dreaming about a vacation? Maybe this is not a well known fact, but vacations tend to make us better employees and better people.
You need to be a better employee, not a martyr at your workplace. So, here are a few major reasons why you should be taking a break from your job.
- Have you become a slacker when it comes to taking some time off work? Many employees do not take a vacation! This is not the way to live your life! French are known to be the most punctual when it comes to taking a vacation. An estimated of 98% French take their complete time off and they even get more than a month of it!
- Working in a stressful workplace tends to make your vacations even more important than ever. Studies have proved that failing to take a vacation tends to create a higher level of stress and disengagement at work amongst the employees.
- You’ve forgotten what a vacation feels like! This tends to take some time to getting used to. On the other hand, if you keep on vacationing from time to time, it will feel right. Vacations often tend to inculcate a feeling of untetheredness in us.
- Vacationing makes you a better problem solver. Yes, an experiment conducted recently has proved that students tackled problems in a better way after taking a vacation. Our surroundings are known to constrain our creativity. When we work in a new environment, our senses of working are often heightened manifold which makes us better problem solvers.
