Have you ever experienced coldness and numbness in your hands and toes when the temperature grows colder? Your toes and fingernails tend to become swollen and painful during the cold weather and go back to normal once the temperature revved up.

If this is the case, then you could be suffering from Raynaud’s phenomenon which affects millions of people all over the world. However, most people are not even aware of the fact that they are afflicted with this phenomenon while they are suffering from it and never see a doctor.

What exactly is the Raynaud’s Phenomenon? Let’s take a deeper look.

Raynaud’s phenomenon is when you get afflicted with unpleasantly numb fingers and toes and in some cases even the ears and the nose gets affected with this feeling of numbness. This happens due to the closing down of the blood supply to the arteries, which cause them to spasm due to the coldness. Stress and anxiety too can play a major part in the occurrence of this phenomenon.

You can practice a lot of homemade remedies in order to get rid of this phenomenon. Take a look:

  • Try keeping your body warm when it’s cold outside. Make sure that your hands and feet are covered with good gloves and warm footwear.
  • Try avoiding smoking. It can affect your circulatory system adversely.
  • Minimize the amount of stress that you go through. It is not as easy as it sounds, but try practicing some relaxation techniques such as breathing and Yoga to calm yourself down.
  • Get plenty of exercise. This can help you to fight against stress and improve the blood circulation within your body.
