Five Things To Do When You're Pregnant

“Congratulations! You are pregnant!” Hearing these words can change the life of a woman upside down. Though this change is good, women are often perplexed during their first pregnancy. However, here are the following things that you should be doing once you have heard the good news.

  • Stick to your Prenatal Appointments:

During your pregnancy, it is very important to stick obediently to your prenatal appointments. It does not matter if it is your first appointment or your regular follow up’s. These appointments are radical for keeping you and your baby healthy. Prenatal appointments work around to check the baby’s vitals from time and time and keeping you abreast of any issue which may be arising.

  • Get your daily dose of Folic Acid:

Your pregnancy plays a very important role in the development of your baby. Therefore, it is recommended to get your daily dose of Folic Acid in order to decrease the risk of the baby to develop heart defects or spinal bifida. Research studies have proven that women who consume their daily dose of Folic Acid have a lower risk of birthing a baby with neural tube defect. Foods such as spinach, sprouts as well as green, leafy vegetables are rich in Folic Acid. Apart from these, make sure that your consume your folic acid supplements on a daily basis. If you suffer from anemia or diabetes, it is recommended that your daily allowance is increased, as per the advice of the doctor.

  • Relax and Pamper Yourself:

Being a woman, your workload around the office and home is never going to decrease, even if you are pregnant. However, it is important to take things slow for a while and learn to relax. It is important to take some time off as your body is already under a lot of pressure and additional stress could be harmful for both you and the baby. Stress is known the increase the chances of premature birth and could cause abnormalities in your child. If anything is bothering you, relax and discuss it with someone you are close to.

  • Make the most of your me time:

Women often have a lot of time before the baby arrives. This is the time to spend some me time. You should indulge in anything that you like. Go out with your friends, sit back and watch the movies you’ve always wanted to. Just remember that once the baby arrives you will be having your hands full and no time for yourself. Learn how to relax and work towards reducing your stress levels in the time before the delivery 

  • Go for a Pregnancy Photo Shoot:

Pregnancy Photo shoot is the new trend in town. Go celebrate your pregnancy and capture the moments for an eternity. Once your bump has started to appear, this is the perfect time to go in for a pregnancy photo shoot. Photographs are the best way to capture that amazing phase of your life. Get your partner, family and friends together for a fun photo shoot!
