Teeth Whitening has emerged as one of the most sought after dental treatments all over the world. Bleaching, Laser Light Treatments and even certain toothpastes claim to transform your aged teeth into more youthful and good looking pearly whites.
Dentists all over the world exclaim that if you want something inexpensive to get rid of the superficial strains on your teeth, you can choose from toothpastes which have more abrasives in them. By using such toothpastes, you will be able to see the difference within a month. These products tend to deliver faster and have long lasting results as compared to the ones which are available from a dentist.
How this works?
Bleaching agents such as Carbamide and Peroxide are known to penetrate deep into the enamel and lighten the discoloration which has been caused due to aging or habits such as smoking, drinking coffee, tea and red wine. On the other hand, Laser Lightening works by applying a laser light to the teeth immediately after the bleaching in order to enhance the process further.
Things to know beforehand:
You should be aware that Peroxide does not lighten up the fillings, crowns, veneers, bonding and bridges. Therefore, bleaching can lead to uneven coloration.
The time duration for which the treatment lasts depends upon your daily oral habits. However, Laser treatments are known to last for two years.
Bleaching can lead to temporary tooth sensitivity and gum irritation in some people. However, don’t worry about the enamel on your teeth, studies have shown that bleaching does not harm the enamel.
