Green Poop: Basic Overview

Green Poop is a common condition which affects people all over the world. In this condition, the poop or the faeces look green in colour. This condition could be arising due to something that has been recently eaten, such as kale or spinach. However, green stools can also occur due to certain medications such as iron supplements.

Newborns and infants are also known to pass green coloured stools known as meconium. Breast fed infants too are known to produce yellowish green coloured stools. However, amongst older children and adults, green poop is very uncommon and this could be a cause for concern.
