Is it safe to use Wax while you are pregnant?

Created On : May 6, 2015

Is it safe to use wax while you are pregnant? I was planning to wax at home only and needed a second opinion on it before I go for it. I am five months pregnant; could it be harmful for my baby?

There are no reports regarding unsafely while waxing. However, experts tend to advice against it. While a woman is pregnant, the skin is quite sensitive and itchy due to the changes in the hormonal levels in the body. The body also has an extra supply of blood during pregnancy, especially around the pubic area. This is going to make waxing even more painful for you.

Waxing around the pubic region can leave you with tiny broken blood vessels, which can become infected by the accumulation of the bacteria. Hair tends to grow more rapidly while you are pregnant.

If you decide to go in for waxing, try testing the product on a small patch of skin first. Try not waxing any area which is irritated, sun burnt or even has moles or warts around it.
