Hot oil massages are perhaps the best way to liven up dry and damaged hair. Hair experts recommend oiling your hair at least once a week. Since ages, applying coconut oil on the hair is like a ritual in Indian families, and for good reason too! Coconut oil is known to prevent hair loss, split ends and breakage. The vitamins and minerals in the oil revitalises the hair and makes it shiny and healthy after only a few uses.
Massage a few drops of warm coconut oil on your hair half an hour before a bath. Wash with lukewarm water. You can also oil your hair and leave it overnight.
Olive oil is another product that will give you gorgeous hair. Olive oil is best known to prevent hair loss and to promote hair growth. Olive oil is a natural conditioner. It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties that keep away scalp problems too. Warm a little olive oil and apply it on your hair and scalp. Wash with a mild shampoo after an hour. Since there are various types of olive oil in the market, experts suggests using the purest form of it, i.e extra virgin olive oil.
Yogurt is an excellent conditioner. Make a hair mask out of plain yogurt and a few drops of lemon. Apply it on your hair and leave for at least half an hour. Once the yogurt gets dry, wash your hair with a mild shampoo. The yogurt will deep condition your hair and make it shiny and healthy. For better results use hung curd.

Vinegar or apple cider vinegar is a great alternative for store bought conditioner. It not only enhances hair texture but also keeps it squeaky clean. After a normal hair wash, rinse with a cup of vinegar and water solution. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes and wash thoroughly with water. Use this remedy at least twice a week to get rid of the residue from hair products.

Methi or fenugreek seeds
Fenugreek seeds are packed with proteins, vitamins and lecithin which are essential for healthy hair growth. They have medicinal properties which have been used since ages to treat hair loss, dandruff and baldness.
To make a hair mask with fenugreek seeds, soak them in water for a few hours and then grind them into a paste. Apply this paste directly on the scalp and hair. Once it is evenly spread, leave for 20-30 minutes. Do not let it dry completely as it will make it difficult to wash off later. Wash with warm water and a mild shampoo. You can also make a hair mask with fenugreek seeds and yogurt. Yogurt will give you the volume and fenugreek seeds will give the shine.
Honey is not only great for your skin, but for your hair too. Honey is packed with antioxidants and it has antibacterial properties that are great to treat infections on the scalp or dandruff. Honey also helps retain the moisture in your hair and makes it soft, strong and healthy.
Since honey is too sticky to be used on its own, diluting it with vinegar, olive oil or water is recommended. Mix equal portions of each and apply on the scalp and along the length of your hair. Wash with warm water after half an hour.
Banana is another ingredient that makes your hair shiny and healthy. Bananas are rich in potassium and vitamins which repairs damaged and dry hair. to make a hair mask, mash a banana with some olive oil or coconut oil and apply it on the hair and scalp. Wash thoroughly after half an hour. Apply this mask at least two to three times a month to get fabulous drool worthy hair.
There are numerous health benefits of avocado. It is rich in vitamins B and E, along with iron, magnesium and copper. Avocados work wonders by reducing hair fall and repairing damaged hair. Take the flesh of an avocado and mash them with a few drops of olive oil. Apply this on your hair and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash your hair thoroughly with warm water until the water runs clear. You will notice your hair becoming silky and shiny after just one wash.
Mayonnaise works wonders for dry and brittle hair. The amino acids and antioxidants in mayonnaise helps restore the moisture and makes it shiny and soft. Buy any organic mayonnaise (or you can make it at home) and apply it on slightly wet hair. If you have oily scalp, just apply on the tips of your hair. Leave for at least an hour before washing with a mild shampoo. Do this at least once a week if you have extremely dry and damaged hair.
You might wonder how beer will help you get the perfect hair. Beer contains protein and vitamins that are beneficial to dry and damaged hair. A little beer sprayed on to the roots also helps it volumize the hair and make it look thicker. After a shampoo, rinse your hair with half a cup of beer. Leave for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with water. You can also spray some beer on wet hair and blow-dry it to remove the smell. Do this once or twice a month to have silky strong hair.
