13 Benefits of Beer for Health, Skin & Hair

Nothing sounds better on a summer evening than a cold lager waiting for you at the end of the day. Beer is a crowd pleaser, throughout different tastes and seasons and brings to you many unexpected benefits in its wake.

Though there are many health benefits of beer, a lot of health conscious people avoid the malty beverage due to it’s high calorific content. There has been a strong association between beer and beer belly, which makes people assume that beer is fattening or unhealthy for them. However, the truth is far from it. Beer is a fat free, cholesterol free as well as a low in carbohydrate drink! Made from hops, barley and wheat, Beer is known to contain different nutrients, Vitamins, Riboflavin, Niacin and Zinc. So cut down the negatives and get ready to know the many health benefits of Beer:

6) Cures Insomnia:

Beer contains Lactoflavin and Nicotinic Acid which is known to promote a healthy sleeping pattern in people.

7) Reduces the risk of a heart attack:

Beer drinkers tend to have a 40-60% reduced risk of suffering from a heart attack as compared to non drinkers.

8) Prevents Blood Clots:

Beer tends to also prevent blood clots. The ingredients present in Beer are known to help prevent the formation of blood clots.

10) Prevents Type 2 Diabetes:

Another Dutch study has proclaimed that men who did not drink Beer occasionally were more prone at suffering from Type 2 Diabetes as compared to men who were regular drinkers. Drinking a beer or two only helps make you stronger.

11) Boosts Vision:

A beer a day has been proved to keep your eye doctor at bay! Researchers have found that one beer daily is known to increase the antioxidant activity in your eyes, which stop the formation of cataracts.

12) Reduces Stress:

A beer a day is also known to keep stress and heart attacks away. Drinking a moderate amount of alcohol is known to keep away the stress and anxiety, which are the major causes behind a heart attack. This ‘moderate’ amount per day is 12 ounces for women and 24 ounces for men.

One of my friends recommended me to marinate the meat in beer next time in order to make it the best way possible. According to her, marinating meat in beer while cooking it, kills around 70% of the total carcinogens found in the meat. It also decreases the risk of neurological diseases in people. Great advise i think!
