7 Tips for Glowing Skin

Everyone wishes to have beautiful dewy skin that glows with good health. However, dust, dirt and pollution plays havoc with your skin and make it look dull and dry. Following a good beauty regimen is therefore essential to keep your skin looking fresh and beautiful. Besides a beauty regimen, one also needs to have a healthy lifestyle and adequate sleep for good skin.

One of the best tips for glowing skin is to exfoliate regularly with a good scrub. Although homemade scrubs made with sugar or any other exfoliant are effective in removing dirt and grime, they are not as good as chemical exfoliators. Try exfoliators that contain alpha hydroxyl acids and beta hydroxyl acids that helps to slough off dead cells, revealing fresh skin.
Cleanse your Skin
Cleanse your skin every day with a mild cleanser that does not contain any harsh chemicals. Choose a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type and which is not drying. Also, make sure that you remove all traces of makeup before you retire to bed. Removing makeup and cleansing your skin also helps in preventing blackheads and breakouts.
Sun damage such as dark spots and sagging of skin is caused by overexposure to sunlight. So it is very important that you apply a sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection to prevent sun damage. Also make sure that you stay out of the sun between 10 am and 4 pm when the sunrays are the harshest.
Staying hydrated is the mantra for having glowing and radiant complexion. Besides drinking adequate amount of water, consume fruit and vegetable juices. Juices contain essential nutrients and antioxidants that help to keep skin healthy and beautiful.
Stock up on Vitamins
For bright and radiant complexion, it is very important that your body have adequate vitamins. Vitamin C and Vitamin E help the body to fight free radicals and prevent sun damage. If you are not having enough of these vitamins, take supplements of vitamin C and vitamin E.
Use a Good Moisturizer
As stated earlier for glowing and smooth complexion, one needs to keep one’s skin hydrated at all times. Use a moisturizer which hydrates the skin and keeps it moisturized. A water-based moisturizer will help to prevent dryness and keep skin soft and supple.
Opt for Yoga
Although any kind of exercise, be it strength training or cardio is good for skin, yoga is particularly beneficial for attaining healthy and glowing skin. Regular yoga will not only make you more flexible and healthy, it will also contribute to great looking skin.
Detox your Skin
Just as it is essential to detox the body to get rid of accumulated toxins, it is also important to detox the skin. Reduce the intake of dairy products, coffee and sugar for a week and see the difference in your skin. Drink herbal teas such as chamomile tea and sip on lemon water to detox your skin.
