Calcium is good – this is what we have always heard. It is commonly known that Calcium is quite essential for women as women can lose up to 20% of their bone mass after the onset of menopause. The mineral can help to decrease the rate for the onset of Osteoporosis and tends to tame down the blood pressure in women as well. Calcium is also known to be associated with decreasing the risk of colorectal cancer as well as easier weight loss.

Research has claimed that Calcium might be bad for your heart if you are fulfilling your body’s intake of the mineral from pills. A recent analysis has just shown that women who take Calcium supplement pills are known to suffer from a higher chance of contracting heart problems. The chance of contracting heart disease escalates by up to 22% in women who rely on Calcium supplements for their daily intake of the mineral.

Calcium supplements have lost their luster over the years. Therefore, it is better to fulfill your intake of the mineral from your diet instead.
