Today magazines, websites and blogs are full of advice onto eating better and maintaining a good diet form. The information is overwhelming as well as confusing at times. With so many food choices available between raw food, sea food, vegan, dairy products, anti inflammatory, foods with the required minerals and ones for your glands! The choices are diverse and many and only works to confuse the person.

What to eat is the question in the end?

Ayurveda brings out a wonderful concept for attaining a perfect balance of the body with a perfect food regimen. This regimen which originated in India around 5000 years back has now emerged to be very popular in the west. It has been adopted extensively for the last 15 years. This regimen is a combination of physiological as well as psychological health and well being.

A well balanced diet should contain of a combination of vegetables, fruits as well as food materials which have a high quantity of protein content. This includes the intake of beans, quinoa as well as chicken, fish and meats. When these all are incorporated into our diets, then we can attain a healthier life style as before.

Organic food is known to have healing powers and is known to provide people with health, vitality as well as longevity. The best way to incorporate all the variety of foods that are beneficial for you is to follow the below mentioned food regime:

  1.       Red – Tomatoes, Peppers, Watermelons, Strawberry, Cherries
  2.       Orange – Carrots, Cantaloupe, Mangoes, Papaya
  3.       Yellow – Squash, lemon, Corn, Citric Fruits, Yellow pepper
  4.       Green – Spinach, Broccoli, Squash, Lettuce, Celery, Avocado
  5.       Blue – Blueberries
  6.       Purple – Eggplant, Grapes, Wine, Potatoes
  7.       White – Beans, Quinoa, Wheat, Nuts, Chicken

It’s now time to bring in a little colour in your kitchen. If you decide to choose your eating habits according to the above mentioned foods and try to incorporate every one of them into your schedule, then it will be the perfect recipe for a healthy lifestyle!
