No one ever said that an egg a day, keeps the doctor at bay. However, latest research has clearly demonstrated that eating an egg every day does not raise your risk of contracting heart disease amongst healthy people. On the other hand, Lutein, a nutrient which is found around the yolk of an egg is known to help prevent heart disease. The formerly forbidden food for heart patients has some other health benefits as well. Take a look:

  • D- Lightful: Eggs count amongst only a few handful of food sources which are rich in Vitamin D. This Vitamin is extremely important for the development of a healthy bone tissue.
  • Eye Candy: Eggs are a rich source of Carotenoids which are known to reduce your risk of contracting Cataract and age related macular degeneration of the eyes.
  • Figure Friendly: One normal sized egg contains around 6.25 grams of protein, which are just 75 calories and only 5 grams of fat!
