How to Get Rid of Uneven Skin Tone

Everybody wants to have a flawless and dewy complexion. But, very few of us are blessed with great skin that shines with health and radiance. Uneven, patchy skin is a problem that is faced by a lot of people. It makes one look older than his/her age. Although there are many creams, lotions and serums that promises to get rid of discolorations and dark spots, not many of them live up to these claims. However, there are a number of natural remedies for achieving a flawless complexion, free of dark spots and discolorations. Here are a few tips to get rid of uneven skin tone.

Homemade Remedies for Uneven Skin Tone

Lemon and Honey Mask

Squeeze the juice of a lemon and add a tablespoon of pure honey to it. Mix well and apply this concoction all over your face. After 15-20 minutes, wash the mask off with cold water. Lemon juice has skin lightening properties that helps to get rid of discoloration and tanning. Honey has moisturizing properties that makes your skin soft and supple. For best results, this mask should be applied twice a week.

Yogurt and Papaya Mask

Take half a cup of cubed ripe papaya and blend it in a mixer with two tablespoons of thick yogurt. Once the mixture is fully blended but not too runny, apply it carefully over your face and neck. Allow the mask to dry and then wash off the mask with cold water. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain that helps to fade discolorations and dark spots while yogurt has natural lactic acid that helps to lighten the skin. With regular use of this mask, you can have smooth and even skin.

Chickpea Flour and Milk Mask

Chickpea flour which is a staple in every Indian household works wonders in removing sun tanning and getting rid of excess oil from the skin. Just mix two tablespoons of chickpea flour with just a bit of milk until you have a fairly thick mixture. Apply this mixture evenly over your face. After 20-25 minutes, wash the mask off with cold water. You will immediately notice that your complexion brightening.

Potato and Lime Mask Peel a potato and grate it finely.

To this add a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lime juice and mix them together. Apply the mask over your face and leave it on for half an hour, before washing it off with water. Potato contains enzymes that help to fade discolorations and lime juice has skin bleaching properties. With regular use of this mask, you will have soft, supple and even skin.

Almond and Milk Scrub

Soak a few almonds in half a cup of milk overnight. The  next day, blend the almonds with a bit of milk until you have a coarse but thick paste. Apply the almond paste over your skin and rub it with your fingertips in gentle circular motion for 3-4 minutes. Wash off with water. Use this scrub twice a week and you will have soft, glowing and flawless complexion.

For healthy skin, it is important to keep it hydrated and moisturized with a good moisturizer. In addition to this, you should also use a sunscreen to avoid skin darkening. With these natural home remedies, you can have healthy, supple and even skin tone.
