Nuts - The Powerhouse of Energy

Need a quick energy burst, but do not know where to turn to? You need not go far away as nuts are the extreme source of energy that is easily available for your consumption. Nuts are full of protein and it is known as a great source of energy. It not only provides you with a quick needed boost, but also helps you to go on longer as compared to drinks such as coffee or nicotine.

Nuts are known to contain great quantities of Omega 3 fatty acids along with the unsaturated fats that are known to provide instant energy to the muscles and organs. Scientific research has also proven that an everyday consumption of nuts helps to lower the body fat and cholesterol. Not only that, if you look forward to protect your cells from the oxidative stress, then trying out nuts, which are a great source of antioxidants is the first option that you should opt for.

Though there are many nuts to choose from, let’s deal with each kind of nuts one by one, depending upon the kind of nutrional value they offer:

1. Almonds: Almonds are the best known nuts all over the world. With great nutritional value, they provide you with a great amount of protein along with potassium and iron; they help in the maintenance of energy level at all time.

2. Cashews: Though cashews are known to have a lower amount of fat as compared to its counterparts, consuming them can provide you with amino acids as well as much needed minerals. Cashews are known to be a great source of copper and this can enhance the energy production of your body.

3. Walnuts: Walnuts are known to be the powerhouse of Omega 3 fatty acids. They are also considered to be a tremendous source of L-arginine, an amino acid which is known to convert the glucose of the body into glycogen within the liver.

4. Pecans: Though pecans are not well known in India, they are a great source of protein and unsaturated fats. It has been proved that pecans are a source of vitamins and minerals.

When in times of needing some instant energy, rather than choosing caffeine, it is recommended to consume a handful of nuts. Not only will they provide you with the energy but will also prove to be a great medium to balance the vitamins and minerals in your body.
