- Exercise: Sure, you may be thinking that exercise has emerged out to be the answer for every ailment, yet studies have proven that when couch potatoes start exercising on a regular basis, it is not that only their arm or leg muscles start bulking up, but it has been shown that the brain density increases as well. It is not necessary for you to become an athlete, but it is recommended to indulge in slow exercises, such as climbing a flight of stairs or walking to a nearby destination.

Taking a class, learning a new language, indulging in a mental task with a friend is known to lower the risk of dementia by almost 60%
- Feed Your Brain: Eating well is the key to wade off the chances of Alzheimer’s disease. If you are overweight, your risk of contracting Dementia is doubled. If you are obese, then the chances are four times more. Choosing a Mediterranean diet, consisting of whole grains and fish is known to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s Disease as well as Diabetes.
- Manage Your Stress: A recent study has found that people who are easily stressed are twice as more susceptible towards developing Alzheimer’s disease as compared to their counterparts. Meditation can help you to calm yourself and is known to actually increase the size of the brain. Practicing Tai Chi, getting a soothing massage as well as taking an after dinner walk is known to help you deal with stress better.
