How Safe is Microwave cooking?

Created On : February 24, 2015

Hi all,

We have recently installed a microwave oven in our home. Though I love the food which is cooked in it, some people have told me that it is not very safe. Can you tell me why? and is it true?

Hi Rekha, I do not know how true is this statement. However, I am sure that the foods which are cooked in the oven are safe and healthy. Microwaves emit the electromagnetic waves in order to cook the food. This can cause certain chronic diseases, but that does not mean that the food cooked in the microwave is not safe. It does not hurt to cook food in oven once in a while.

I have heard that cooking food in the microwave is bad, but in the oven it is very good indeed. Cooking or baking in the grill is just like cooking over the fire, which is very good for your health. But you cannot cook everything in the oven. It is not like the stove.. oven is more convenient for working people.
