Is it safe to eat a Pizza while you are pregnant? What could be the harmful side effects of it? Can anyone advise?

Yes. Pizzas are very safe to have while you are pregnant as long as they are cooked properly and are served hot. It is advised to be cautious while eating a pizza which has been topped with cheese. Cheese contains more bacteria which you need to be worried about.

 

Consuming piping hot pizzas, which have been cooked to high temperatures, kills all the bacteria. It is advised to opt for vegetable packed toppings if you are going to have a pizza as it is going to provide you and your baby with added fiber, vitamins and nutrients. If you are opting to go in for non vegetarian toppings, it is advised to go in for cold cured meats such as Pepperoni, Parma Ham and Salami as the risk of bacteria in these meats is comparatively less.
